The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged’ed’ed)
Shakespeare & Company will be performing 9 one minute “pantomimed” synopsis of 9 different Shakespeare plays while a teammate is reading each play from a scroll. The team will “randomly” draw from a bin of scrolls, will have 30 seconds to grab props and “plan,” then perform the pantomime while one of their teammates reads the synopsis. Each team will be competing for the title of best “Abridged’ed’ed-er”, which will be determined by audience participation via cheering and applause.

In keeping with the spirit of the Arts A’Fair program, they strive to provide a performance that is fun and whimsical as well as educational and accessible. The company’s mission statement speaks to the importance of connecting with a wide range of people who have different levels of experience with the Bard’s work. They have enjoyed expanding on this idea in past years at the Minnesota State Fair through the Arts A’Fair program, offering family-friendly and entertaining productions that highlight popular works of Shakespeare. These pop-up performances are part of the State Fair's Arts A'Fair program.
