The Minnesota State Fair Horse Show features a variety of horse breed and horse discipline competitions. The following links provide information that includes entry fees, judge lists, show schedules and more.

  • Draft – Decorating and Showmanship; Clydesdale , Belgian Halter and Percheron Halter, Draft Hitch
  • Hunter & Jumper – Jumper, Unrated Hunter, Opportunity Hunter/Jumper, “C” Rated Hunter, “A” Rated Hunter
  • Light Horse – Paint Horse, Pinto Horse, WSCA Pleasure
  • Western Saddle Club Association – WSCA Games, WSCA Pleasure

Rules for Entry

The horse show premium book and entry forms are available in June. Information is also available by mail; contact the competition department and indicate which category you are interested in.

REGISTRATION: By entering online, entry and W-9 forms will be filled out electronically. Registration and payment for entries online will be available for all divisions beginning July 12. No late entries may be submitted via the online registration process. Entries may also be submitted via mail. Payment must be submitted at time of entry; if you do not pay, your entries are not accepted.

Online registration will absolutely close at midnight on Friday, Aug. 6.

Minnesota State Fair Beginning Exhibitor Livestock Learning Experience (BELLE) Grant

The Minnesota State Fair is committed to showcasing our state’s finest agriculture, and we recognize the importance of cultivating youth experiences in the horse industry. We also understand that exhibiting at the Minnesota State Fair can stretch the family budget. Thanks to support from the Minnesota State Fair Foundation, we are proud to introduce the Minnesota State Fair Beginning Exhibitor Livestock Learning Experience (BELLE) Grant awarded to exhibitors who commit to participating in the Minnesota State Fair for the first time in 2021.
