MPR Day: The Current presents Mae Simpson

Mae Simpson has powerful vocals and a magnetic stage presence.The Minneapolis-based singer songwriter weaves elements of funk, soul, pop, rock and country into her sound. Her broad and soulful voice and deep well of creative energy are complemented by the musicianship and passion of the band. Mae and her bandmates leave it all on the stage.

Tight horn and rhythm sections set the tone, immediately pulling fans to engage. The band includes Jorgen Wadkins on guitar, David Kellerman on bass, drummer and background vocalist Aaron Silverstein, Mae also includes a horn section. In 2023 they released Chandelier & Bloom, Simpson’s debut full-length album and have been a ISC Finalist in 2024 and 2025.
