Aug. 21 – Labor Day, Sept. 1, 2025
Journey to Space is an immersive exhibit featuring astronaut accounts and interactive experiences that showcase the realities of space travel and life aboard the International Space Station. Visitors can explore a full-scale replica of the Destiny Laboratory with simulated weightlessness, tackle hands-on challenges like operating robotic arms and managing life support systems, and learn about the extreme hazards of space, including radiation and temperature variations. The exhibit combines historical artifacts from five decades of space exploration, including Neil Armstrong's Apollo 11 gloves, with educational demonstrations using water rockets and drop towers to help visitors understand space physics and envision humanity's future beyond Earth.
Produced by the Science Museum of Minnesota and the California Science Center with support from NASA.
Aug. 21-24 only, NASA adds fun components to the exhibit (see separate daily schedule listing).
