Delayed Ticket Delivery

The Minnesota State Fair places a delay on the delivery of tickets purchased online for Grandstand show on-sales. To ensure everyone is given a fair shot, we delay the delivery of tickets so we can check for orders placed by bots or orders that did not adhere to ticket limits.

Ticket delivery delays may be different among Grandstand shows and due to artist requests. Please check your confirmation email for information regarding the timeline for tickets to be delivered or available to print at home.

Weather permitting, fireworks follow each evening’s Grandstand show. Starting times vary, but fireworks shows generally start between 10 and 11 p.m. For your safety, please remain seated during the fireworks.

First Aid

Minor injuries and ailments are treated at the Red Cross booth located at the east end of the Grandstand Plaza level near the elevator. In the event of serious illness or injury, contact an usher for assistance.

Food, drinks, beer and artist merchandise are available for purchase within the Grandstand venue. Beer will be served until approximately one hour before the scheduled conclusion of the performance. IDs will be checked for beer sales. Coolers are not allowed.

Random Number Distribution Procedure

The Minnesota State Fair reserves the right to utilize a random number distribution procedure at the State Fairgrounds Ticket Office for select events the day tickets first go on sale to the public. This procedure is used to allow the general public a fair and safe opportunity to purchase tickets for their favorite Grandstand shows.

One hour prior to the start of the on-sale, numbered tickets will be distributed to customers waiting to purchase tickets. The number distribution will conclude 20 minutes prior to the on-sale. At the 20 minute mark, a random number will be drawn. The customer that holds the ticket with the number drawn will be first in line. You must be present at the time of the drawing or you will forfeit your spot. The remaining participants will line up in numerical order behind this individual.

If you arrive after the drawing, you will line up behind all of the customers with numbered tickets.

200 customers are issued a numbered ticket for an on-sale. The ticket drawn is 79. The person holding ticket number 79 will be the first person in line for the on-sale. Everyone else will line up in numerical order following number 79; number 80 will be second in line, 81 will be third, and so on. The customer with the number 1 on their ticket will line up after the individual with the number 200 ticket.

All 2020 Grandstand concerts have been rescheduled to 2021. If you purchased tickets and would like to attend the 2021 concert, no action is needed, your current ticket will remain valid.

Tickets for Grandstand events and gate admission are non-refundable. Questions should be directed to the Ticket Office at, or during the State Fair to Guest Services at Visitors Plaza, open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Reserved Seats

Most Grandstand show seating is reserved, unless advertised as general admission. Seating consists of plaza seats (folding chairs) and elevated mainstand seats (theater-style).

Permanent restrooms are located inside the Grandstand with entrances into the building at row 10 (second floor Grandstand). Restrooms are also available at the east and west end of the plaza. All restrooms are wheelchair accessible.

Seating Charts

The seating figuration and pricing changes from show to show, so each night has its own seating chart. Visit each artist’s page on our website to see the most accurate seating chart.

Secondary Ticket Market

Consumer Warning – The Minnesota State Fair uses barcode scanning for Grandstand ticket admissions. As a result, fans should be careful when purchasing tickets to make certain the seller is a Minnesota State Fair licensed ticketing agent.

Etix is the ONLY authorized ticketing agent outside of the Minnesota State Fair Ticket Office. If you purchase tickets from an unauthorized agent in the secondary market (scalper, ticket broker, eBay, Craigslist, etc.), you risk purchasing counterfeit or invalid tickets which may result in refusal of admission.

Selfie Sticks

The use of “selfie sticks” is prohibited in the Grandstand concert venue.

Sign Language Interpreters

Sign language interpreters are available upon request for all paid Grandstand shows with 14 days notice required. Please call 651-288-4427 to purchase tickets and request an interpreter.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is not allowed in the Grandstand seating areas. Smoking (including the use of electronic cigarettes) is allowed on the plaza level of the east and west ends behind the white lines. Ask any usher for further direction.

Ticket Delivery Method

Based on the ticket buyer’s geographic location, Grandstand ticket delivery method options may vary. The Minnesota State Fair or the Grandstand artist reserves the right to restrict delivery methods. The print-at-home, mail or will call options may not be available at all times.

Ticket Limit

When purchasing tickets for a Grandstand show, each person is limited to a specified number of tickets for each show. The ticket limit is posted during the purchase process online. This limit can change from show to show per the artist’s request. In the event it is determined an individual exceeded the ticket limit, orders in excess of that limit will be canceled. For specific details on the ticket limit for a Grandstand show, please call the Minnesota State Fair Ticket Office at 651-288-4427.

All patrons who are in the Grandstand must be prepared to produce a valid ticket at the request of State Fair personnel. Please retain your ticket until the conclusion of the performance.

Video Screens

LED screens will be utilized on both sides of the stage.

All concerts go on, rain or shine. Concert bookings do not allow for refunds or exchanges in the event of rain. If weather appears threatening, please bring jackets or ponchos. Use of umbrellas is prohibited at the Grandstand.

In the event a concert is canceled, ticket buyers will be contacted regarding a refund.
