Nature Play

The Nature Adventure Play Area is a place where families can relax, experience open-ended nature play, and be inspired to incorporate more nature play in their lives at home. Children can play in the messy sand kitchen, explorie the small stream/water tower, creatie forts, and more. Nature Adventure Play is a powerful antidote to the impact of technology on our children. The area encourages the “DNA of Play” which is another name for children playing instinctively. Research shows spending time outdoors in nature is good for our minds and our bodies. It also enhances environmental understanding and compassion and fosters awareness of and willingness to tackle challenges like pollution and climate change. This year, the exhibit will feature a third water feature, more construction materials, and a fort-building event on Friday, Aug. 28.
