The Just Us Gardens, an initiative by JIIVE, is dedicated to transforming spaces and empowering communities.
Just Us Gardens is the only community garden in Minnesota that has raised beds the size of prison mattresses and a solitary confinement cell repurposed to grow food. This project symbolizes the renewal of prison environments into vibrant, productive community gardens that serve as catalysts for social-emotional learning, food sovereignty and civic engagement.
Through pictures and videos, we tell the story about how our garden is a space for growth where everyone can teach, learn and commune.
