A beloved State Fair landmark has entered its next chapter! The first major renovation in the Coliseum's 75-year history has transformed it into a modern, accessible venue while preserving the character and purpose that have made it a centerpiece of the fair for generations. Stop in for free livestock and horse shows, browse vendors and experience the transformation for yourself.
During the multiyear project, crews replaced the massive roof that had been leaking; replaced all of the arena seats while widening aisles and adding railings; renovated the entryways and installed six large display panels describing the colorful history and significant events of the Coliseum's remarkable 75 years; improved accessibility with two ramps in the concourses, reconstructed wheelchair-accessible seating areas in the arena and added adult-size changing tables, companion restrooms and a lactation room; expanded restrooms; upgraded mechanical, electrical, air ventilation and fire suppression systems; installed new lighting; painted walls throughout the building; added a meeting room and new offices; plus other upgrades to ensure the Coliseum will continue welcoming youth and open class livestock exhibitions, horse shows and countless fair and year-round traditions for decades to come. Except during the 2025 State Fair, the Lee & Rose Warner Coliseum was closed while this $24 million project was underway.
