Getting to the Milk Run:

The Start/Finish line is near Gate 18 on Randall Avenue and Underwood Street. You will need your admission ticket to get to the start line.


The annual 5k run begins and ends on the fairgrounds. The 2018 Milk Run takes place on Sunday, Aug. 26. The course winds its way through the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota and the St. Anthony Park neighborhood. The entry fee for 2018 is $35. Each participant receives a Milk Run T-shirt, admission to the fair, a malt coupon, breakfast sandwich and the opportunity to win door prizes.

Registration for the 2018 Milk Run is now closed. Registration opened at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3 and filled within 12 hours. The race is limited to the first 1,500 entrants, and every year it fills up quickly. Early registration is recommended. The Milk Run fee is non-refundable.

General Information

Time: 7:45 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018

Course: The 5K certified course begins near Gate 18 on Randall Avenue, winds through St. Anthony Park and the U of M-St. Paul Campus and finishes back at the start.

Age Categories for 2018: 19 & Under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+

Awards: Awards go to the top three men and women in each age category. Champion awards will be presented to the top five men and top five women overall.

Participants Receive: A Milk Run T-shirt, an admission ticket to the fair, a malt coupon, breakfast sandwich and a chance for door prizes.

Strollers and Wagons: Due to safety and liability concerns, strollers and wagons are not allowed in the Milk Run.

Time Limit: Due to high traffic volumes during the State Fair, the race course can only be kept open for a maximum of 1 hour after the 7:45 a.m. start. ALL competitors MUST complete the course in 60 minutes or less.

Runner Packets: Race number, instructions, maps and tickets will be mailed to all runners by early August. Race numbers are NON-TRANSFERABLE.
