Tower of Power’s musical odyssey began in 1968 when Emilio Castillo met Stephen "Doc" Kupka, who was known for his signature baritone sax sound. After playing at an audition in 1970, Tower of Power was signed to Bill Graham’s San Francisco Records, and its first album, Easy Bay Grease, was released. The group’s next album, Bump City, led to a string of hits and memorable albums that include many of the songs the group’s fans continue to come out in force to hear. Over the years, the Tower of Power Horns have recorded with hundreds of artists as diverse as Aerosmith, Elton John, Phish, Santana, Heart and more. Tower of Power continues to tour and record. Always in demand, the band never fails to entertain and amaze its fans around the world with its timeless music.
