Requesting Charitable Donations

The Minnesota State Fair has a long history of charitable giving in our community. Community involvement and support is important to us. Our donation program receives hundreds of requests annually. Every inquiry is given serious consideration based on its alignment with the State Fair’s mission of education and involving our guests through entertainment, innovation and fun. The Minnesota State Fair reserves the right to decline any requests that do not fall within the guidelines below.

  • Donation requests must come from Minnesota-based organizations or those within the surrounding area.
  • Preference is given to 501(c)(3) organizations.
  • Donations are limited to one per organization per calendar year.
  • Requests for monetary donations, employee incentive programs, third parties or political groups cannot be honored.
  • All requests must be written on letterhead and include the following details:
    • Organization mission and background
    • Explanation of how the donation will be used
    • Date of the event and date the donation is due
    • Direct contact person along with this person’s phone and email
    • Mailing address to which the donation should be shipped if approved
  • Request letters must be emailed or sent by U.S. mail. Please allow a minimum of 30 days prior to your scheduled event for your request to be considered.
