The 2020 Minnesota State Fair is canceled. Learn more. See you Aug. 26 – Sept. 6, 2021!

Fine Arts Exhibition Event

Although we are not able to gather to celebrate in our usual Great Minnesota Get-Together style, we are pleased to announce that the Minnesota State Fair will host a fine arts exhibition in 2020.

The Fine Arts Exhibition of Minnesota will showcase the amazing work of talented artists from across the state. Pieces will be selected through an online juried competition and then displayed in the Fine Arts Center on the State Fairgrounds. The exhibition can be viewed:

  • In person during special ticketed gallery showings (see below for information).
  • In a video recording tour shared at no cost via the Minnesota State Fair website and social media channels. Check back here for details and links later this summer.
  • Through a free virtual catalog that will include artwork descriptions, artist information and links to artists’ web presence. Check back here for details and links later this summer.

This one-of-a-kind exhibition will feature hundreds of works by Minnesotans in eight classes of competition: oil/acrylic/mix media; sculpture; watercolor/gouache/casein/tempera; drawings/pastel; prints; ceramics/glass; textiles/fiber; and photography. Artists may make their pieces available for sale through the Minnesota State Fair Foundation.

In accordance with revised state health mandates, wearing masks will be required at this event. We will not be able to provide masks upon request, so please plan to bring your own mask.

Proceeds from ticket sales support future fine arts programming at the Minnesota State Fair. A portion of artwork sales benefits the Minnesota State Fair Foundation 501(c)(3). Thank you to Foundation donors, whose generous support helped to make the 2020 fine arts exhibition possible.
