Steve Riley and The Mamou Playboys

Steve Riley is from the French town of Mamou, La. He became his hometown’s favorite son when he took up playing the accordion. At the age of 15, he joined Dewey Balfa’s band and became a prestigious performer, all the while learning how to play the fiddle. In 1988, Riley and David Greely formed the Mamou Playboys, which rapidly gained prominence on the international folk scene.
