Shift of VolunteersDue to the size of the exhibit and the ages of the participants, “Little Farm Hands” requires the help of many, many volunteers to help guide the children and their families through the various miniature barns. The job of the volunteer is to help the farm hands maximize their experience by making sure that each simple step is completed. We would like to invite your organization to volunteer for a shift at “Little Farm Hands.” As a participant, your organization would commit to providing no less then 15 -20 volunteers for the exhibit for a four hour shift. (Ideally we would like 25 volunteers at all times, if possible.) The wonderful thing about this? Before or after the short four hour shift, the volunteers are able to enjoy the State Fair on our admission ticket! Also, each volunteer will receive a “Little Farm Hands” T-shirt as a small token or our appreciation. General Information:2008 Minnesota State Fair Dates: Thursday, Aug. 21 through Labor Day, Sept. 1 Time Commitment: In order for the exhibit to run as smoothly as possible, it is necessary to have no less than 15 - 20 volunteers at the exhibit at all times between the hours of 7:45 a.m. - 7:15 p.m. *Ideally we would like 25 volunteers at all times, if possible. Although you may choose how you would like to schedule your group of volunteers, we found that dividing the day into three equal shifts works well. The wonderful thing about this? Before or after the short four hour shift, the volunteers are able to enjoy the State Fair on our admission ticket! Volunteer Shifts
If your organization is unable to commit to providing an entire day of volunteers, we hope you will still consider signing up for this FUN and family-friendly opportunity! If you only have 12 or eight or five volunteers, etc. that would like to volunteer for a couple of hours or shifts, please give us a call. Volunteers may choose to sign-up as individuals or if they’d like to volunteer with their family or invite a couple of friends to volunteer with them, we need two to four per station.
