As a folk and country blues musician, Charlie Parr is routinely labeled “authentic” and “the real deal” by fans and critics alike. Parr grew up in Austin, Minn. where he took interest in old-times folks blues singers like Furry Lewis and Rev. Gary Davis. Performing since 1988, Parr has played his share of both high-profile and far flung stages. An appearance by Charlie Parr on NPR's “A Prairie Home Companion,” when the show visited Duluth in 2004, remains a career highlight.
