4-H LIVESTOCK

The 2008 4-H Livestock show runs four days, from Thursday, August 21 through Sunday, August 24. Departments include:

• Beef and Dairy Cattle
• Dairy and Market Goats
• Poultry (chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, pigeons)
• Rabbits
• Sheep
• Swine
• Llamas

Other 4-H contests include Herdsmanship, Showmanship, Judging Teams, Public Presentations, Non-Livestock Exhibits and County Club exhibits.

GENERAL INFORMATION AND RULES FOR ENTRY: The 4-H premium book is available annually for download in early June. VEHICLE ADMISSION/OVERNIGHT PARKING INFORMATION: There is space west of the barns for Livestock and Horse exhibitors to park overnight during the fair. Click here for prices and more information.

• 4-H Premium Book

The Ben C. Hallberg Scholarship Program was designed to recognize the significant contributions of the State Fair Farm Boys' Camp, later Youth Camp and Mr. Ben C. Hallberg who served at every camp from 1939 until his death in 1964. Up to 20 scholarships of $1000 each will be made available to young adults from Greater Minnesota and those enrolled in an agriculture program in 2008. Please download the scholarship application for further details. Completed applications must be received on or before August 8, 2008.
