The Minnesota State Fair is the ideal platform to reach more than 1.9 million potential customers in only 12 days (more than 150,000 per day). Affectionately known as the Great Minnesota Get-Together, the fair’s ever-growing and loyal fan base is what makes this exhibition the “must-stop” destination for sponsors and mobile marketing units promoting across the country. Surveys reveal that a whopping 85% of guests visit the fair every year and an additional 12% visit every other year or every five years. The 2017 fair will run Thursday, Aug. 24 through Monday, Labor Day, Sept. 4.

This annual high-profile 12-day fair with a 150-year history, features more than 1,200 exhibit booths including 300 food vendors and dozens of sponsors and touring promotional exhibits. Visitors enjoy spectacular educational experiences at the award-winning Eco Experience, Wiser Living, Heritage & History Center, Miracle of Birth Center, as well as many other exhibits.

More than 900 entertainment performances on free stages plus a Grandstand stage presenting internationally known artists are among the offerings. Past Grandstand artists have included Christina Aguilera, Black Keys, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Kid Rock, Faith Hill, KISS, Fergie, Jeff Foxworthy, Alicia Keys, Macklemore, Toby Keith, Bonnie Raitt, and hundreds more.

Media

  • Nearly 1,600 media credentials are issued by request each year (1,500 in 2016, 1,580 in 2015 and 1,420 in 2014).
     
  • Annually, the Minnesota State Fair receives more than 220,000,000 print and online impressions with a media value of nearly $11 million.
     
  • More than 3,000 television stories regarding the fair are broadcast each year with:

The department works very closely with more than 30 media outlet with permanent booths on the fairgrounds all 12 days of the fair, as well as with the hundreds of media reporters visiting from outstate and out-of-state, requesting story ideas.
