Overlooked State Fair Must Haves! by Scooby

Category: Food

  1. French Potato Crepe
So good! Diced potato, creamy, cheesy, hot goodness wrapped in soft crepe dough! Always the first place I go at the fair every time!
  2. Fried Green Tomatoes & Corn Fritters
Mmmmm! Easily the most under-rated food at the Fair! I wait all year for these! crunchy seasoned breading and ranch dressing! Honey butter for the fritters!
  3. Nitro Ice Cream
Most amazing ice cream you will find! dense and creamy. I can't believe how many people don't know about this. If you don't believe me how good it is - they give out FREE samples!!
  4. Corn Dog - is NOT a pronto pup!
Nothing like a FRESH CORN dog at the fair - and oh SO MUCH better than those silly wheaty Pronto Pups - bleh. Seriously.

Secrets to Share by Schultz

Category: Food

  1. Midway Men's Club
    Cheapest beer at the fair!
  2. Turkey to Go
Its a yummy must have, but - save your stomach space! skip it - you can get it at their new food trucks year round all over town. Go for something you can't have the rest of the year!
  3. Taco King
This is worth the walk and a repeat food item! The salsa is fresh! The more you add the hotter it gets. Control your own heat factor.
  4. Beergarita
The beergarita is a refreshing summer alternative on a hot day! Find it in the Crossroads Gardens next to the Ball Park Cafe.

To-dos for much ado by Sarah Lawrence

Category: Favorite Places

  1. The Olde Mill
It may be a it cheesy, but I cannot leave the fair without taking a ride in this 5 minute "love tunnel".
  2. Agriculture and Horticulture Building
This building has so many different features and is full of beautiful, creative and tasty things. I look forward to the centerpiece all year.
  3. Food Buiding
Always crowded, but a must for cheese curds, potato skins, deep fried macaroni and cheese on-a-stick.... it really needs no explanation.
  4. The International Bazaar
It's got the food, the mood and plenty to do. I have found some of my favorite clothing and jewelry in the bazaar at the fair, not to mention lily bulbs and my favorite: cinnamon roasted almonds :)

Giggle's walley cakes are awesome - and don't forget the sauce.
  3. Strawberry Treat
From the fruit-shaped stands outside of the food building, you can't go wrong with the "strawberry treat" on a hot day.
  4. Gelato at the Pizza Palace
Too many flavors to choose from...but a sweet way to end the day!
