Apple Cider Popsicle
nothing more satiating after walking in the crowds and heat. my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
I try to save room in my belly for two rounds!
New Food Items
I'll never forget the Goulash on a Stick (unfortunately), but I'm up for trying something new and funny!
Talent Show Finals
SO many memories... there's been the great, the interesting and the painful. but all entertaining! a personal family tradition even if I nearly always disagree with the judges, but I stay for the fireworks anyway. =)
Spirit of Minnesota by BAB
Go to the Dairy Barn and see the princesses get their heads carved in butter. Speculate what you'd do, if your daughter was a princess and brought home her butterhead.
Creative Activities Building
OMG the winter must last forever in Minnesota. How else would people have enough time to make such gorgeous and intricate projects?
What's the funniest home canned entry? Who eats home canned grapes anyway?
Stand on the hilly street near the animal bars on a Saturday afternoon and watch the waves of people. Count the folks on crutches and the pregnant women and realize that nothing can stand between a real Minnesotan and the Fair. Now go get a malt and toast your observation!
Taking in the Fair for over 35 years by Barb
The Draft Horse Hitches
Besides all the great food, we come for the evening horse show and to watch the beautiful draft horses parading from the barns to the show ring.
The Food Building
We visit the Food Building often, eating something different every time.
We go to the fair for two days. One to scope out all the wonderful things for sale, and day two, to buy some things for us, and always something for each of our family. It's like Christmas when we get together with the kids and grandkids after the fair!
The Coupon Book
We map out our day using the coupon book as a guide to what we want to eat and buy. It's like a great big treasure hunt!

Tom Thumb Donuts
The best mini donuts in the world
The ones across from the midway (yellow and red container). Only "Five Guys" comes close to these for freshness and that REAL potato flavor.
Ice cream from the Dairy Barn
Any ice cream from the Dairy Barn. I don't know if it is that great but it's tradition and then you will be sure to see the butter heads.
Mashed potatoes on a stick
A new addition in 2010. Always good to mix something new with the old. This is really good. I will have it again this year. YUM!!
