29 years at the fair and my memories are: by Danielle

Category: Family Fun

  1. Cheese On A Stick
Must. Have. One. Wait....must have TWO because the first one goes down SO fast, you don't even taste it. With or WITHOUT the fresh squeezed lemonade (but I prefer 'with').
  2. Haunted House
I remember being so little my dad had to carry me, and I saw all of these skeletons coming at me- scared me to DEATH (and I loved it!). Now I promise it's the scariest haunted house I've ever been in. I still remember the 'Ghost Busters' theme song playing outside while you wait in line :)
  3. Sweet Martha's Cookies
We moved from MN about 11 years ago, and every time we go back up for the fair, we make sure to tell the workers how 'far we've come JUST for some cookies'. They always pile our bucket HIGH and it lasts our family of 5 ALL DAY LONG!
  4. People
Someone always wants to sit down. People watching is the BEST PART of the fair- it's the best free entertainment you'll find! At ANY time of day :) Makes me smile just thinking about it!

Darcelle by Darcelle

Category: Food

  1. Scotch Egg
Gotta start my Fair visit with one of these EVERY year. Down by the horse barns. Yummy hard boiled egg wrapped in sausage and breadcrumbs then deep fried and put on a stick.
  2. Pickle Dog
By the entrance to the midway, pastrami and cream cheese wrapped around a crunchy pickle. Very refreshing!
  3. Taco from Del Sol
Corner of the food building, God Bless Papa Coke!
  4. Strawberries and Cream
On machinery hill; best berries and cream you will find anywhere.

Gotta Have's by Darcy Miller

Category: Food

  1. Scone w/ fresh fruit and creme topping
Four three years running this has been my first stop on day one of the Fair. What a guilt-free start to eating at the Fair!
  2. 100% real fruit strawberry smoothies
This Strawberry smoothie is the best thing you could have on a picky stomach after a full day eating junkie Fair food!! Located across from the Pet Center.
  3. Corn on the Cob
Delectable, delectable, delectable! This with the pork chop on a stick alone, makes the Fair worth attending. :) Enough said!
  4. Cinnie Smiths
Yum, yum, yummy! If you're a cinnamon roll fan for breakfast make this your first stop of the day! This is always day two breakfast for me. Located across from the Pet Center.
