Best Time of the Year by Rocky :)
I LOVE the Mighty Midway, it has awesome rides, and looks beautiful at night! I even got my 8 year old brother to go on the Slingshot! Plus it looks astounding at night! I REALLY wanna go on the new rides this year.
They always have awesome artists performing at the Grandstand. This year I'm gonna see Demi Lovato and Hot Chelle Rae!
They always have adorable farm animals like Horses, Sheep, Pigs, and Cows! My little sisters can't get enough of the animals in the barn!
They have a great variety of food. Last year I tried Belgian Waffle on a stick covered in Chocolate it was delicious! I can't wait to try the new food this year!
No Where But The MN State Fair by Todd needs The Fair!
Mullet Hair Cuts
Business in the front, party in the back! 20+ years past their prime, mullets are still going strong at the Fair. Highlights score extra points!
MN State Fair Museum
An excellect snap shot of MN State Fair history. Hewey Lewis left his Nike sneakers behind after a show at the Grandstand back in the 80's. Today they're on display!
Shell's Beer Tent
Brilliantly situated between the music stage and the sparsley used,cleaner-than-expected bathrooms in Heritage Square. Sample the first batch of Oktoberfest Lager and catch some good time tunes!
Bee Exibit in the Ag-Hort Building
See live bees in action making honey. And the pretty array of amber hues in the jars lined up on display. Plus the honey sticks! Cheap (like 25 cents for two), sweet and they come in a dozen different flavors.
Carmen's (been going my whole life) picks by Carmen Shoberg
The giant slide is a great place to meet family and friends, (because everyone knows where it is) then all take a ride down the slide together - or just watch the kids go down.
Love to see the county kids/people and their livestock. Take the barn tours they are informational and fun and don't take too long.
State Fair Museum
Located in Heritage square, it's a little well kept peek into the Fair's history, learn something new, marvel at all the grandstand acts that have come through, get a load of the costumes and hair do's from the past......
Beer Garden's in a tilt-a-whirl seat
Go sit and relax with a beer or pop and watch the city meet the county - best place to people watch, you have your county folks coming from the barns and the city folks heading for the midway - have a seat be ready to be entertained by some GOOD people watching!
