Top 4 Places to Explore by MSF Staffer - Alex
I love the Bazaar because it reminds me of a (much more compact) world market. There are so many vendors selling unique, hand-made goods and there's cuisine representing cultures all over the world. I can't wait to get a Mediterranean lemonade, buy some jewelry, and see Dosh & Maria Isa perform this year!
CHS Miracle of Birth Center
There's nothing that brightens a girl's day quite like adorable baby animals.
Fine Arts Building
I love that in the midst of food, fun and all of the other attractions, there's an art gallery!
Agriculture Horticulture Building
Besides the beautiful gardens that surround this building, I love looking at the entries for the flowers, fruit and wine competitions.
Carmen the fair-goers fab four by Carmen Shoberg
You have to ride the giant slide no matter what your age. It's also a great place to rest on a bench in the shade as you watch sliders from all walks of life go down the big yellow slide. You can also enjoy some country music and a yo- yo show (Dazzeling Dave) if your there at the right time.
State Fair Museum
It's a great walk through exibit for new fair goers or veteran fair folks. It's fun to see how the grounds have changed and how the grandstand acts have come from horse racing to awesome outdoor concerts, come in and learn something new.
Creative Arts building
The heart of what the state fair is all about, canned goods, baked goods and handcrafted items from all over the state. We love to come through this building each year and look at what awesome things people can cook, back, can, sew, paint, carve, etc. Fun for all ages!
Cosater's Beer Garden
Best place to rest tired legs, grab a cold beer and watch the country kids meet the city kids as they walk into the melting pot we call the Mid Way. The best corner to people watch, get yourself an old tilt-a-whirl seat in the shade, and let life at the fair entertain you.
my must haves/see by Megan Warn
They are as amazing as the funny/silly man who owns the cart. Pickle dogs are a yummy piece of pastrami with cream cheese smeared all over it and a pickle on top, rolled up for easy consumption! I eat three every time I go to the fair.
strawberries and cream
that's it, just whole berries and cool whip. I could get it at home but it tastes better with a spork! Don't forget to whip a sporkfull at your sister!
cute cute piglets and chicks and cows, sheep and whatever else is entering the world that day. need I say more? oh! sometimes you get to touch them! don't forget to sanitize!
Keep and eye out for lost flip flops on the tops of buildings and don't forget to smooch your sweetheart half way though!
