Sweet Martha's Cookie Jar
You can buy a paper cone overflowing with the best cookies I've ever eaten, or buy a whole bucket full of them to bring home! They hardly lasted a few days when I stayed up there last year.
There's a grocery store!
Yes, considering everything else up at the Minnesota State Fair, there's a grocery store, too! It's in the alley behind the poultry barn, and that is where they make some huge, delicious sub sandwiches! You can also buy an assorted amount of other things, from apples (to escape the fried food lining every street), any type of bottled drink that floats your boat, or to flip-flops in case of a shoe crisis.
It's a must, every year we take a walk through the Cultural Bazaar. Not only do they have amazing food from darn near everywhere, but they also have a lot of other things too; jewelry, clothing, and many sorts of cultural art.
The Lee & Rose Warner Coliseum
Another must, we always walk around the Coliseum, just inside the doors there's a ring of little shops that encircles the Coliseum. Just make sure you remember which doors you came in, you don't want to get mixed up by walking out the wrong door!
Foods with veggies, so the calories don't count by Beckaroo
Found in the international bazaar. These noodles are fried on huge, flying saucer sized woks, and have tons of veggies! Coated in a sweet sauce, they are delish! Also, I've seen them on numerous occasions giving free noodles to Buddhist monks, which I think is really cool.
Deep fried cauliflower
Golden deliciousness in Heritage square. Yummy, hot, and deep fried-what's not to love? I always seem to miss finding Heritage square on my first go round, but worth the search.
Veggie fajitas/Juanita's Fajitas
Had them once on a whim, and now are a fair tradition! The onions and peppers are sweet and perfectly fried, and the Juanita's fajita seasoning is perfection! I love them with a healthy dash of green tabasco.
This corn is on almost everyone's list! I think it's probably technically a starch, but it grows out of dirt in a field, so is a veggie for my state fair purposes! So yummy with butter, salt, and pepper. Just don't forget a toothpick! Have a great MN get together!!!

Food & Beverages
How can you go wrong with tons of deep fried options, food on a stick, Tall lemonade for a low price, BEER, all you can drink milk, new items every year, things made out of honey, etc. etc. etc. I can go on and on just about the food but there is also...
On the train it says "World's Largest Midway" I don't know if that is true but you gotta love your entertainment options. Kidway too. There are even Kidway rides I like to go on. I hope my God Daughter is in town so I can partake in those rides. Next is...
Music & Entertainment
They always get great entertainers for the Grandstand. The free shows are awesome too. Tonic Sol Fa, The MCC Gospel Choir, Boogie Wonderland, etc. I saw Mint Condition a few years ago and it was awesome. I also heard that Boyz II Men are putting on a free show. I'll have to check on that before I leave the web site, And finally there is...
The Overall Atmosphere
Minnesotans usually have this in common. A love for the Minnesota State fair. There's something for everyone. It's a great place to meet with family & friends. You have the Fine Arts Building, The Pet Center, the vendors, the free stages, the Bazaar, Heritage Square, the Midway & Kidway, the local television stations and radio stations, etc. It's no wonder the Saints are so fun. The stadium is so close to the fairgrounds it just rubs off. And I love the new things every year. The fair never gets boring. This year will be my 27th consecutive year going to the fair. I hope my streak continues into my 80's, 90's, even 100's. That's what the Fair means to be. It is my all time favorite place to be in the entire world. It was one of my grandpa's too and his name is forever at the fairgrounds. There are things that didn't make this list but are still why I love the fair. The history for example. It's just really amazing. Thanks for letting me share. I love talking about it.
