Just plain yummy. Italian sausage on a roll with sauce and cheese.
My nephew has to have these every year after we leave the dog building. They are so yummy and you can take a cup home with you. Cinni Mini's with ice cream are how we roll!
Mom has to have the BIG bucket of fries from the big stand. We all whine about her ordering the big bucket because we say we don't need all of it. But in the end we clean out the bucket.
So light and fluffy you can eat them on a full stomach! Outside of Heritage Square.
Wayne's Favorite Fair Four by Wayne
Leinie Band Shell
Great music throughout the day and night time too. Turn around and watch the daily parade.
Catch the creativity of Minnesota teens. Get ideas for our home as well.
A quieter area to relax and catch a glimpe of the past not to mention last year's button and a hand printed newspaper about news at the Great Minnesota Get-Together.
The Food Building
A great place to fill up after viewing the sights at the fair.
50 years of state fair memories by Joan Ignaszewski
Ye Olde Mill My dad told me about this before I ever went to the fair, and it is an old standard and a great place to cool off on a hot day for a very reasonable price.
All the stage shows in Heritage Square. Brings me back to my youth. Miss the Jack De Johns though.
The aroma is the greatest and the taste is always wonderful.
One of the best foods at the fair which I never make at home. Yum....
REAL Fair Food! by Mr. Al in Kentucky
At the fair, I try to eat things that remind me of the rural farming communities of Minnesota. One of these is the sweet corn at the stand near the grandstand. Minnesota is a big corn producing state!
Swedish Meatballs/Egg Coffee
The Swedish meatballs and egg coffee at the Salem Lutheran Church dining hall bring back memories of the many Swedish Meatball Dinners of my home church, Marshall Lutheran Church, rural Adams, Minn.
I go to Andres Watermelon stand on Underwood St. at least three times during the fair. The fresh watermelon reminds me of the many home gardeners in Minn.
Ham Loaf Dinner
At least one ham loaf dinner at Hamline United Methodist Church dining hall is a must during the fair. Brings back memories of the many hogs we raised on our farm in Clayton Township, Mower County. We sold all of our hogs to Hormel's in Austin where they were processed into many good hams!
