The "Gotta Haves!" by Nancy Laines

Category: Food

  1. Grilled corn on a cob
Nothing like it, with butter dripping down your chin! If you are trying not to eat too much, eat this first. It's satisfying and fills you up!
  2. Pronto Pup
The traditional classic since 1947! It beats out the corn dog, for it's unique wheat batter.
  3. Sweet Martha's Cookies
Get the individual servings instead of a bucket. Then they are still warm! Once you get your cookies, RUN to the "all you can drink" milk stand, and enjoy your cookies and milk!
  4. New Food on a Stick
Be sure to try whatever this year's new food on a stick is .... because it's fun!

Getting Around & Seeing the Fairgrounds by MSF Staffer - TCD

Category: Attractions & Exhibits

  1. SkyGlider
It's a nice way to get back and forth from the North end of the Fairgrounds. You can get on at Dan Patch Ave. between the Butterfly House & Grandstand Plaza and get off on Murphy Ave. near the Pet Center and vice versa. Worth the ticket if you've got tired feet or exhausted kids!
  2. Skyride
Another great way to get around & see the sights. The gondolas run East & West. Get on near the Agriculture Horticulture Building and get off on Dan Patch Ave. near Heritage Square and back again. Again worth the price of the ticket, especially on very crowded days.
  3. Trolleys
The Trolleys are a nice way to get back and forth to the North End as well. You could get on at Visitors Plaza on Dan Patch Ave. and take it as far North as the Pet Center on Murphy Ave. and back again. Best part? FREE!
  4. Space Tower
You don't get AROUND the Fairgrounds but you sure get a chance to SEE all of the Fairgrounds. It's a fun way to check everything out - sometimes you find something you missed!

47 Years of memories by Donna Sherlin

Category: Miscellaneous

  1. Memory Blocks
I have purchased memory blocks in the park by the Grandstand honoring my Mother, and my husband who have both passed but made many memories at the Fair.
  2. Skyride from the Giant Slide to Machinery Hill
Riding the skyride, letting your feet swing, overlooking everything, and deciding what to see when you make your way back down. Cuddling, stealing a kiss, It doesn't get any better than that.
  3. Mighty Midway
At this age the rides are too wild for me, BUT I get a thrill out of watching everybody else have a ball. Each year the rides are more wild and push it to the edge.I love the lights at night, it's like a trip to Las Vegas
  4. Fabulous Food
Pork Chop on a stick, Mini Doughnuts, Cheese Curds from the food building, Potato Chips from Heritage Square, Funnel Cakes from Maachinery Hill, Italian Ice from International Market Square, The list grows larger every year with each new treat. I am a tradiionalist, Back to the basic list above. YUM YUM
