Once a year indulgences by Verbalmugging

Category: Food

  1. Scotch egg
A softball sized piece of deep fried sausage encasing a hard boiled egg, swimming in dipping sauce.
  2. Big fat bacon
it's BIG, FAT, BACON. This is possibly the best descriptive name at the fair.
  3. Fudge puppy
A delicious belgian waffle on a stick, with cream, dipped in fudge.
  4. Australian jacket potatoes
A heaping mound of deep fried potato goodness, drenched in cheese and sour cream. A plate of these ended my state fair visit early once, as i tried to consume an entire plate by myself. I wisely enlist friends to help now.

  1. Honey Ice Cream
At the horticulture bldg. I heard about it for years but was skeptical, especially since I love chocolate ice cream. But with sunflower seeds I finally appreciate bees!
  2. Cheese Curds
Only the ones in the food bldg. These have no breading so the taste of cheddar cheese is full on.
  3. Ice Cream Shakes and Sundaes
In Dairy bldg. or by cows. The creamiest, it makes you want to kiss the cows!
  4. Java Junction
If you miss Starbucks, this is the closest thing at the fair. By grandstand.
