My favorites, my full life, 20 year experience! by Alyson O'Donnell
Located just outside of the Grandstand. No other corn on the cob comes close! Grab a ticket, trade it in for a delicious cob (or two if they're small) add salt and pepper. But before you enjoy, be sure to scope out a cement ball to sit on!
Fresh French Fries
Fresh French Fires are a must have each day of attendance at the fair! A great snack to grab on the way out of the Midway on the walk back to your car!
Turkey Sandwich at Turkey To Go
Turkey to Go located right next to the All You Can Drink Milk stand makes a delicious treat! This is by far the best sandwich I have ever had!
London Broil at Butcher Boys London Broil
Butcher Boys London Broil located kiddie-corner to the Sky ride entrance by the midway. The London Broil is a great sandwich to grab while you watch the fireworks! Don't forget to add cheese!!

Son's First Time to The Fair
2000 was the first time our son visited the fair. The reason this is particularly special, was because we finalized his adoption the day prior! He was just over 3 months old when we brought him home and his first outting with his "forever family" was to the MN State Fair!
The fair is an annual event for our family. The giant slide is something I did as a child and have continued to go now with our children!
Corn Dogs and French Fries!
The fair wouldn't be the fair without the Corn Dogs and French Fries...always yummy!
We have visited the animal barns every year without fail! Our children have grown up experiencing the great exhibits the 4H groups work so hard to provide! Keep up the wonderful work and providing us with memories!

Leinie Lodge Bandshell
Where else can you see great acts like 'War' for free? The white lights, the tree canopy...it's just great!
Sourdough Slim, Heritage Square
Stumbled upon this guy 2 years ago. So fun, so silly. He comes to the State fair every 2 years, for only a couple of days. If you haven't seen him, GO!
International Square stage
You just can't sit still when listening to music in International Square. Whether at the main stage or the small stage towards the back, it's always fun!
Basically the same show each year, but still amazing each year!

Ye Old Mill
A must. Our first date at 14 years old was at the State Fair. 40 years later we still have to grab a bag of Tom Thumb donuts and head into the musty, coo, dark tunnel of love!
Sort of a new tradition for us (15 years or so!) Slice of pizza, sitting under the ceiling fans, people watching. A good break in the afternoon.
Fine Arts building
A wonderful venue of great, local art. Always hot and muggy. Keep telling ourselves, "oh, just one more gallery" but end up seeing the entire show. If you haven't found this gem, try it out this year!
Really, any of the 'beer gardens' are a good stop. We love sitting close to the doorway, people watching while having a bit to eat, a cool drink--and watching the ejector seat too! Usually late enough at night to see the grandstand fireworks.
