The Foodie's top 4 foods at the fair by ECharais
Deep Fried Pickles
I am weary, if not disgusted at the description, but with the prodding of my kids and husband, I gave them a shot. It changed my perspective...and dare I say, life. Man, these things are good..and totally worth the wait in line!
Belgian Waffle on a Stick
Imagine the best pastry you've ever had, top it with chocolate, and whipped cream, et voila...magic! This waffle is always warm, and just right any time of the day, also worth the wait in line!
Falafel King falafel pocket pita
This sandwich is so good, I eat them every day I go to the fair. The sauce is to die for, and they don't skimp on it! It also has really good tomatoes, and the falafel is king!
Eggrolls at the bazaar
Go to the egg roll place in the bazaar, and order at least 2 just for yourself. Get a cup of the fish sauce for dipping, and enjoy. These are some of the best Vietnamese eggrolls I have ever had! The roll is crispy, and super well-seasoned!

The mighty midway
I love the sounds and lights of this area at night. : )
every year I purchase a new christmas ornament for our tree with my son's name on it. I love looking at the tree each year and seeing what we have purchased and remembering our state fair fun : )
2010 Concerts by Lindsay
Trampled by Turtles
Minnesota-grown bluegrass at its best! And they're here for TWO nights (Sept 1 and 2).
Great opening acts - Amos Lee and The Watson Twins - at the Grandstand.
The Grandstand will be filled to the brim with energy!
The Okee Dokee Brothers
I've heard that these guys put on a fun show for both kids and adults!
