What's not to love! (In no particular order) by Michael A. Rodriguez
Food & Beverages
How can you go wrong with tons of deep fried options, food on a stick, Tall lemonade for a low price, BEER, all you can drink milk, new items every year, things made out of honey, etc. etc. etc. I can go on and on just about the food but there is also...
On the train it says "World's Largest Midway" I don't know if that is true but you gotta love your entertainment options. Kidway too. There are even Kidway rides I like to go on. I hope my God Daughter is in town so I can partake in those rides. Next is...
Music & Entertainment
They always get great entertainers for the Grandstand. The free shows are awesome too. Tonic Sol Fa, The MCC Gospel Choir, Boogie Wonderland, etc. I saw Mint Condition a few years ago and it was awesome. I also heard that Boyz II Men are putting on a free show. I'll have to check on that before I leave the web site, And finally there is...
The Overall Atmosphere
Minnesotans usually have this in common. A love for the Minnesota State fair. There's something for everyone. It's a great place to meet with family & friends. You have the Fine Arts Building, The Pet Center, the vendors, the free stages, the Bazaar, Heritage Square, the Midway & Kidway, the local television stations and radio stations, etc. It's no wonder the Saints are so fun. The stadium is so close to the fairgrounds it just rubs off. And I love the new things every year. The fair never gets boring. This year will be my 27th consecutive year going to the fair. I hope my streak continues into my 80's, 90's, even 100's. That's what the Fair means to be. It is my all time favorite place to be in the entire world. It was one of my grandpa's too and his name is forever at the fairgrounds. There are things that didn't make this list but are still why I love the fair. The history for example. It's just really amazing. Thanks for letting me share. I love talking about it.
Kids Favorites by Bridger and Cass
I like all the rides.
Pineapple-raspberry fruit whip
It's so sweet and it has fruits in it. The stand is near the Giant Slide, across from the French Meadow Bakery.
It's so fun going down. It's such a big slide. At the end, I always want to go down again.
It's so fun looking at the State Fair from above.
So much to do, so little time... by Brenda
Find a spot outside the ag-hort building to sit and listen and watch. I especially enjoy listening to the marching bands.
Creative arts and fine arts buildings
Places I could spend a lot of time enjoying the creative talent of fellow Minnesotans!
Blue ribbon coupon book
I've found places that I might not have seen otherwise while looking for the good deals!
I get my cup of coffee from the store, which is hidden over by the sheep & poultry building I think, then go grab some mini donuts to share with my husband.
Best of the fair by Suzie Hanssen
Features different marching bands.
Ye Old Mill
The tunnel ride
Fine Arts Bldg
A great place to see new things, buy presents for friends, relatives and yourself of course.
