Fun Festive Must Eats! by Katie Little
Sweet Marthas Cookies
This is a must have! Very good portions of chocolate chip cookies. Always warm. Tip: This is a huge hit, so when there is lines, try walking towards the back of the building (next to the radio station)
Milk is always a MUST-Have when you have chocolate chip cookies or other choc items. Good deal. Save your cup. Free refills.
Honey Ice Cream
This is located in the Agriculture building (I believe) and its fresh made ice cream, from real honey...So yummy! And they add sunflower seeds mmmmmm
Breakfast Burrito at Tejas
this is a must have in the morning (before 11am or noon I think). Tejas has a great burrito deal with a cup of coffee. Plus they have great salsa and guac...check it out.. Ballpark food court.
Jen's Four Favorite Fair Foods by Jennifer Ajsenberg
This is just my standard, classic, favorite fair food! I can't get enough of them each year. The batter is crisp, moist, and delicious.
I love these greasy, yummy treats! They are crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside.
Chocolate Strawberry Malt
I always visit the Empire Commons dairy counter to check out the butter sculptures while enjoying a chocolate strawberry malt---I order chocolate at register and when I go to the counter ask them to mix with strawberry. YUM!
Deep Fried Pickles
Another must for me while visiting the food building! I don't get these anywhere else so this is always a treat for me. I like the regular deep fried pickle chips with ranch to dip in.
Christie's list by Christie Lasch
Gourmet deep fried pickles
NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING tops the deep fried pickles with cream cheese in the middle. A must have, and absolutely delicious!
Cheese Curds. The ORIGINAL ones.
A state fair staple. But they HAVE to be the ones from the booth on Dan Patch, directly across from the arcade. They are the original cheese curd booth (and the one that USED to have a booth in the food building).
And I mean corn dog. Not pronto pup. The cornmeal batter makes the corn dog far superior to it's flour batter imitator, the pronto pup.
Corn on the Cob
another staple, and a must have. It's affordable, delicious and relatively healthy!
