Gone, but not forgotten by Cathy t.
Loved this simple game. I hear there is a mall in Brainerd that has them.
Enjoyed the local flavor of the show and the contests they had on the fair grounds.
Sure, International Market Square is neat and clean...but there was something about the feel of the old place.
Fine are entry, " Sock of rice" ( might not be the exact name)
Oh my gosh, we still talk about that one. That's all I'm going to say.

Tom Thumb mini donuts
We only get them from the stand by the Ye' old mill. First stop for the family, then to to the visitors center to get the pin for the year.
Creative Activities Building
Hours upon hours of looking at cross stitch work, and old cookies with flies. Just like grandma's.
Ye' Old Mill
In the heat of the day it's the perfect escape from the heat! Better than the water rides... you won't leave with a wet seat!
University of MN day...
Every year we had to go on this day to see the U of MN parade.

Eat Cheese Curds
I dream of them all year. It has to be done! In this case it's okay to follow the crowd and "do what everybody else is doing"
See the butter heads in the Dairy building
It impressed me as I a child, and it's still fun to see. I even had mine carved in 1993 when I was a Dairy Princess! Brrr....
LIsten to a live polka band
Your toes will tap and your heart will warm as you watch the couples of all ages dance. You may even dance yourself! Good, clean fun at it's best!
See the demonstrations
You've got to check out the Salsa demonstration, the old guy who does the vegie peeler demo, don't forget your shammies, and watch a knife demo in the Horticulture building before you check out the seed art!
