Dancing at the Bandshell
Can't help but smile when the area in front of the stage becomes the best dance floor in town. Twirling, spinning, laughing and smiling ensue when the bands take the stage.
Sweethearts on the Midway
Warms your heart to see arms embracing your sweetie on one side and a giant stuffed bear in the other.
Crop Art Demonstrator
Patience, perfection and pin point accuracy make watching the crop artist in action fascinating.

Mornings at the fair
There is nothing like getting in the fair before the other 95% of that day's go-ers get near the gates. There is a certain comraderie among those that seek out breakfast as soon as the booths begin to open.
Yearly new food items
Yes we have our favorites but it is always an adventure seeking out the year's new delights. This year we enjoyed chicken fried bacon.
Whether you say you are 'saving calories all week' or 'walking it off by being at the fair all day,' everyone has their way of justifying it. Let's face it, we all have our favorites and we all over-indulge because On-A-Stick only comes once per year. (See, there it is again)
Lets face it, everybody does it. I'm sure people have watched us too.
The Ward Fair Tradition (even in a Nor'easter) by Judith Thomas
If the goats are not there, go home. They are the friendliest, coolest ambassadors of the Minnesota State Fair. Just watch your shirttails.
Corn on the cob, slathered in butter. Roasted. What more needs to be said?
U of M Dairy Barn Shakes
This is the taste of wholesome. Even on one of the coldest days at the Fair ever. Brr.
Garrison Keillor and the Prairie Home Companion Show
Pure genius! and fun to have the fireworks explode above you at the end. You just have to brush off the exploding riff raff when you are done. :)
Hannah's Four Reasons to Attend the Fair by Hannah
Where else can you get delicious Sweet Martha's cookies, honey ice cream, and hundreds of other delectable goodies?
The Olde Mill
This one-of-a-kind, historic ride is a must for any self-respecting fairgoer.
I LOVE looking at all of the animals at the fair: sheep, pigs, horses, dogs, you name it!
Everyone is so happy to be at the Fair! It's our annual way to say, "We love Minnesota!" I love spending the day with other Minnesotans who love their state.
