Son's First Time to The Fair
2000 was the first time our son visited the fair. The reason this is particularly special, was because we finalized his adoption the day prior! He was just over 3 months old when we brought him home and his first outting with his "forever family" was to the MN State Fair!

Giant Slide
The fair is an annual event for our family. The giant slide is something I did as a child and have continued to go now with our children!

Corn Dogs and French Fries!
The fair wouldn't be the fair without the Corn Dogs and French Fries...always yummy!
-
Animal Barns
We have visited the animal barns every year without fail! Our children have grown up experiencing the great exhibits the 4H groups work so hard to provide! Keep up the wonderful work and providing us with memories!

Every year my daughter and I enjoy building a project together. (butterfly house, airplane, boat...)

Giant Slide
A classic since I was a kid. Now I take my daughter, and love hearing hear "squeal" as she passes by the microphones.
-
Miracle of Birth
We enjoy seeing the cute baby animals being born, taking their first "wobbley" steps and nursing from their mothers.
-
Little Farm Hands
Great fun watching my daughter planting the seeds, milking the cows, and driving tractor...

Cultural Exposure
The art building, henna tattoos, bonsai trees, Greek Gyros, Salsa dancers, African music... I credit the MN State Fair with introducing me to a multitude of new cultural experiences.

Navigation Skills
Take a 12-year old 4-Her from rural Minnesota, plop her down in 320 acres of city, give her a map and a 9pm curfew and see what happens!

The Drive to Learn and Create
Growing up, a trip to the State Fair was an honor granted to those 4-Hers who could demonstrate knowledge, skill and creativity in a certain area. Trips were coveted and there was only one way to earn a trip: hard work.

My First Job
I still can't believe that I got my "dream job" right out of college. Working at the MN State Fair allowed me to share my passion with others and I'll never forget the feeling of being a part of something so special.
