My Favorite State Fair Sweets by Zemrad

Category: Food

  1. Sweet Martha's Cookies
A bucket of melt-in-your-mouth chocolate love. They're especially good with a cool cup of milk.
  2. Tom Thumb's Donuts
Hot cinnamon-sugar goodness. When the dining halls are full at 8 am, a sack of these lovelies makes the perfect morning snack.
  3. Limeade at the Midway
The best way to cool off after waiting in the sun for the rides all afternoon.
  4. Honey Ice Cream
Visit the Ag-Hort building to say hi to some hardworking honeybees and taste the fruits of their labor.

Hidden Must Eat Treasures by Matt Ringhofer

Category: Food

  1. Stuffed Green Pepper
Green pepper stuffed with a mild yet tasty rice and beef concoction, smothered in a rich, smooth homemade tomato sauce all wrapped up in steamed perfection. Our family’s first stop! This stand looks like a giant green pepper.
  2. Taco Stand
Fresh, reasonable, yet tasty and satisfying. This taco stand offers simple varieties of tacos with FANTASTIC tomato salsa with a great zing to top it all off.
  3. Raspberry Malt
This is one of the best raspberry malts around. Located in the Dairy Building, these raspberry masterpieces offer a HEAPING scoop of whole fresh plump raspberries. A real treat!
  4. Hot Dog on Stick (Not Pronto Pup, Not Corn Dog)
This tasty treat is lighter and smaller than a typical "corn dog" The simple breading wrapped around a plump hot dog makes for quite a surprise to those used to a bland and typically heavy corn dog.
