The 4 Food Groups of the Minnesota State Fair by Arthur Morrissey

Category: Food

  1. Dairy - Cheese Curds
Stop by the cheese curd stand in the food building for the greasy foundation any and all visits to the Minnesota State Fair needs. Grab a bladder buster of pop across the aisle for cheap and for balance.
  2. Corn Dog
Would any visit to the Great Minnesota Get Together be complete without a corn dog? Normal or footlong...it doesn't matter when you taste this staple. Plus, it is a good follow up to some curds.
  3. Corn on the Cob
At the very least, do it for your mother? Would it kill you to eat a vegetable? When it comes to roasted corn on the cob, you get the best of both worlds. You make your mother happy and you get fresh, Minnesota-grown corn on the cob dipped in a bat of butter. Add a little salt and pepper if you feel crazy.
  4. Sweet Martha's Cookies
You did your part and ate your vegetables; now it is time for the reward - freshly baked, mouth-watering cookies for dessert! A bucket travels to the All-You-Can-Drink Milk Stand and to your home perfectly.

Myprontopup's Favorite Food List by Myprontopup

Category: Food

  1. Pronto Pups
"Banquet on a Stick" - need I say more?
  2. Manny's Cuban Tortas
A classic Cuban sandwich, and a darn good one at that. A little zesty - in a good way. Pairs nicely with cold Summit in the International Bazaar and some hot salsa rhythms.
  3. Andy's Grill - Philly Cheese Steak
Cheese steak grilled to order. And make sure you stay for the musical interlude (typically at the top of each hour)... Go greased lightning, go!
  4. Fresh French Fries
Why not? Not exotic, but tasty, local and fresh. Just like the fair itself.

  1. Sweet Martha's.
By the cone, not in the bucket. Hot, fresh gooey goodness.
  2. Mini Doughnuts
Not sure if Tiny Tim Doughnuts are still there. But who cannot help but love cinnamon and sugar?
  3. Cheese Curds
Takes me back to my college days. A&W cannot touch what is offered on Commonwealth Avenue!
  4. 1919 Root Beer Stand.
You have to wash all that down with something!
