Ye Old Mill
A must. Our first date at 14 years old was at the State Fair. 40 years later we still have to grab a bag of Tom Thumb donuts and head into the musty, coo, dark tunnel of love!
Sort of a new tradition for us (15 years or so!) Slice of pizza, sitting under the ceiling fans, people watching. A good break in the afternoon.
Fine Arts building
A wonderful venue of great, local art. Always hot and muggy. Keep telling ourselves, "oh, just one more gallery" but end up seeing the entire show. If you haven't found this gem, try it out this year!
Really, any of the 'beer gardens' are a good stop. We love sitting close to the doorway, people watching while having a bit to eat, a cool drink--and watching the ejector seat too! Usually late enough at night to see the grandstand fireworks.
Ree Bee's MNSF Fav's by Marie
I ALWAYS make my family go to the fair with me on the fist weekend because that is the only time the ADORABLE bunnies are there.
I love the licorice flavored taffy you can get at the stand outside the food building. It's a staple year year.
I enjoy going to the International Market area. It is a great time.
Sweet Martha's and Milk
The last thing we do every year is get a bucket of cookies and milk and sit watching people and reliving the time we just had.

Creative Arts Buidling
I enter the areas of sewing, knitting and my favorite food preservation especially pickles.
Ice Cream Cone
I have to stop to see the butter carvings and get an ice cream cone.
Cheese Curds/Onion Rings
Our family has to stop at the food building and eat our favorites. ALso to keep up our energy to see everything at the fair.
Our children are 4-H alumni now. But we still go to the building to see all the exhibits, watch the Arts In performance, fashion review and hope to run into some our of 4-H friends.
