The Top 4 Food Stalls You MUST Try by Katie Schmalz

  1. Salem Lutheran Church Dining Hall
    The first place that you need to visit is the Salem Lutheran Church dining hall. It has been around for years. Its a great sit down dining location and is one of the few stands to actually offer breakfast. I personally love the Meatball Sundae, a giant meatball on top of mashed potatoes. There is also their special Swedish egg coffee to try.
  2. All You Can Drink Milk Stall
    For $1, you can refill your cup of nice cold refeshing milk throughout your entire day at the fair. Chocolate milk is even available! The milk is great with your Sweet Martha Cookies! ;)
  3. Sweet Marthas Cookies
    The best cookies in the fair! You must try them. The line may be long but it goes very quickly since there are so many cookie makers. Pair it with your all you can drink milk!
  4. Australian Potatoes
    North side of Judson near corner of Judson and Clough. It has yummy sliced potatoes, battered and deep fried then topped with cheese or ranch sauce. It even comes with a little souvenir flag of Australia. You wouldn't expect getting that in Minnesota.

    Greeting all customers with a smile and the coldest beer on the fair grounds. Don't forget to fresh cooked-to-order burger with fried onions - yummy!
  2. Giggles
    Check out the walleye cakes and dipping sauce - delicious
  3. Dairy Building
    MALTS, need I say more?
  4. French Crepes
    Try them all - but my favorite is Nutella/Banana

    Must haves: corn on the cob, pork chop on a stick, sundae from the dairy building, Sweet Martha's Cookies, pronto pups, deep fried cheese curds.
  2. Entertainment
    Concerts at the Grandstand and the Leinie's Free Stage.
  3. Exhibits
    Seeing the exhibits in the Agriculture Building. Checking out the new RV's and cars. Going to the U of M booth.
  4. Miscellaneous
    Just walking around among the masses.

    What a great way to start the day at the fair!
  2. Pronto Pups
    Gotta have at leats one Pronto Pup Every Fair. I have loved these thins since I was little and it has become a tradition for me!
  3. Ice Cream Shake
    The Dairy Building makes them fresh everyday! A great way to ccol off and you can check out the Princess's butter heads!
  4. Sweet Martha's Cookies
    And this is how you end the day. Wait in line for a half hour then buy a bag for you and a tub to go!
