Top four reasons my diet doesn't apply by Nicole Evers
They are soooo good!
The first thing I eat every year. Breakfast on-a-stick!
A large bag every year
Shaved Ice in the Bazaar
I will go in here just to get a shaved ice. I even brave the bees for this item!
Deb's Fab Four by Debbie Hearden
I love to walk thru and look at all of the interesting things people sell. They always have some sort of new fad to check out!
There are so many different cultures of items. I can always find a shirt or piece of jewelery in here.
Another great place to shop. And it's all in a circle around the inside of the building which makes it a unique shopping experience. Did I forget to mention that there is a cattle crossing?
Every year I come here and get those cute little refridgerator calendars with old fashioned picture at the top to give at Christmas time. Lot of leather hats, belts and of course jewelery!

The Sights, Sounds, Smells
The State Fair marks a place in time for me - a transition from the heat of August to the cool, crisp days of fall. The sounds of kids laughing; the Mighty Midway screams among the blaring music from the rides; the parades; and the occasional tree toad singing out from the great trees that line the streets, are some of the sounds I look forward to every year. And who doesn't enjoy the smells of fried onions and hot dogs, chocolate chip cookies and hamburgers permeating the air as one makes their way throughout the streets. And lastly, the great anticipation for the next Minnesota State Fair to return once again when summer fades into autumn.
Where else in one building can one find such a vast array of information - from where to attend college to information on your health!
Corn at the Corn Roast - Hot & Buttered!
The greatest treat at the fair - don't have to schuck it, cook it, salt or butter it - and when you have "mowed" down the last row, it's also recyclable!!
This is a must have, always great - with mustard or ketchup!
Foods with veggies, so the calories don't count by Beckaroo
Found in the international bazaar. These noodles are fried on huge, flying saucer sized woks, and have tons of veggies! Coated in a sweet sauce, they are delish! Also, I've seen them on numerous occasions giving free noodles to Buddhist monks, which I think is really cool.
Deep fried cauliflower
Golden deliciousness in Heritage square. Yummy, hot, and deep fried-what's not to love? I always seem to miss finding Heritage square on my first go round, but worth the search.
Veggie fajitas/Juanita's Fajitas
Had them once on a whim, and now are a fair tradition! The onions and peppers are sweet and perfectly fried, and the Juanita's fajita seasoning is perfection! I love them with a healthy dash of green tabasco.
This corn is on almost everyone's list! I think it's probably technically a starch, but it grows out of dirt in a field, so is a veggie for my state fair purposes! So yummy with butter, salt, and pepper. Just don't forget a toothpick! Have a great MN get together!!!
