A Prairie Home Companion is a radio variety show starring humorist and Minnesota native, Garrison Keillor. The program features tales from Lake Wobegon, “where the women are strong, the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average.” Keillor first broadcast A Prairie Home Companion in 1969. It has existed in its current format since 1974. Today, 4 million listeners hear his unique brand of satire each week on more than 600 public radio stations and abroad on America One and the Armed Forces Networks in Europe and the Far East. A Prairie Home Companion returns to the Minnesota State Fair after a two year hiatus.
