Midway & Kidway

Mighty Midway hours: 10 a.m. to midnight (11 p.m. on Labor Day) and Kidway hours: 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. (10 p.m. on Labor Day)

Kidway rides generally require 4 or 5 tickets, Mighty Midway rides generally require 4 to 6 tickets and games of skill generally require 1 to 4 tickets to play.

For more savings, ride on special discount days! This year we have four days when the number of tickets required to ride the rides or play the games is reduced by one ticket all day long. These specials are offered all day on Thursday, Aug. 26, Monday, Aug. 30, Wednesday, Sept. 1 and Monday, Sept. 6.

The same great discounts are offered during early bird specials until 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, Tuesday, Aug. 31, Thursday, Sept. 2 and Friday, Sept. 3.

During the fair, Mighty Midway and Kidway tickets will be sold for $.75 per single; $20 for a sheet of 30 tickets; or $30 for a sheet of 50.

The physical requirements for access to rides are set by their manufacturers and vary based on individual ride dynamics.  For example some of the Kidway rides may have a maximum height of 54 inches while others may have a minimum height of 36 inches, and still others may have a minimum height of 42 inches, unless accompanied by an adult.  Mighty Midway rides generally have a minimum height of 48 inches.  Each ride/attraction at the Minnesota State fair is required to have a clearly understood and visible sign that communicates to the public appropriate height instructions and warnings regarding safe use of the attraction, including instructions for persons with disabilities and parents of minor children, as well as limitations or exclusions due to age, weight, height or physical condition.  We also provide information kiosks in both the Mighty Midway and Kidway where guests can measure their height for the purpose of determining which attractions may be appropriate for them.

The 2010 Blue Ribbon Bargain Book has a coupon for $6 off one $20 sheet of 30 ride and game tickets for Mighty Midway or Kidway and is available for purchase at our box office, State FairWear Gift Shops and State Fair Foundation Kiosks for $5. Books purchased during the fair support the mission of the State Fair Foundation.
