Please visit our registration page to enter. If you need help navigating the registration system, please see our video tutorial for teachers, video tutorial for students, written tutorial or contact us at 651-288-4417 or competition@mnstatefair.org.

How much does it cost to enter the competition?

There is no fee to enter the K-12 competition.

Can I submit an entry that was executed two years ago?

No. All work must have been made within the past year.

What grade should I submit my entry under?

The grade classification is for the year most recently completed.

Does my submission have to be made in school?

No. Submissions just need to be made solely by a school-age exhibitor and are original pieces of work (i.e. home projects, scouts, mini camps, etc. are all accepted)

How many exhibits can I enter in each class?

Entries are limited to one (1) item per student in each class. Except division D classes 1002-1018, 1026; 1102-1118, 1126; 1202-1218, 1226 where students may enter two (2) items.

What are the framing requirements for photos (grades K-3) and artwork?

Ensure hanging hardware is secure and strong enough to hold the frame. Framed pictures must have the necessary hardware: picture wire or hanger hardware attached so the artwork may be hung from a metal hook. No tape accepted. Picture hanging directions differ from Individual Exhibits to Technology Exhibits. Please read rules and regulations carefully.

Am I required to frame my submission?

Framing is not required in the K-12 Individual Exhibits competition. All items smaller than 5” x 7” should be suitably mounted to prevent loss.

I can’t find the class to enter my photography or computer graphics, are they available?

All photography and computer graphics projects in 4th grade and above must be entered in K-12 Technology and Engineering Exhibits competition.

Please email competition@mnstatefair.org with your entry number and the changes you would like made.
