JUDGING SCHEDULE & WHERE TO SEE THE ANIMALS

This schedule outlines where and when animals will be on the fairgrounds throughout the 12 days of the fair. The types of animals to see change throughout the 12 days of the fair, so be sure to check dates and times carefully.

Please note: Some barns close early on designated days for Livestock Arrival & Departure when different breeds and classes move in.

Thursday, Aug. 25 – Sunday, Aug. 28: The first four days of judging at the fair include 4-H livestock (cattle, sheep, swine, goats, poultry and rabbits) and open class sheep. The Horse Show features Hunter, Jumper and Draft Horses (hitch and halter classes). Note: All barns, except the Horse Barn and CHS Miracle of Birth Center close early on Sunday, Aug. 28  for Livestock Arrival & Departure.

    Barns for Cattle, Sheep & Poultry (including 4-H rabbits) and Swine: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 27
    Barns for Cattle, Sheep & Poultry (including 4-H rabbits) and Swine: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Sunday, Aug. 28
    Barns for Cattle, Sheep & Poultry (including 4-H rabbits) and Swine: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Note early closing time for Livestock Arrival & Departure.) Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 29 – Thursday, Sept. 1: The middle four days of judging at the fair include open class dairy cattle, sheep, swine, Boer goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys and geese. The Horse Show features English Horses, Signature Night, polo matches and Western classes, including Saddlebred, Arabian, Morgan, Pinto, Paint, Quarter and Appaloosa horses. The popular Draft Horse Supreme Six Horse Hitch competition takes place Monday, Aug. 29. Note: All barns, except the Horse Barn & the Poultry Barn and CHS Miracle of Birth Center, close early on Thursday, Sept. 1 for Livestock Arrival & Departure.

  • Monday, Aug. 29
    Barns for Cattle, Sheep and Swine (including Boer goats): 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Poultry Barn is closed for Livestock Arrival & Departure until noon. Stock Dog Trials take place in the Warner Coliseum at 9 a.m.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 30
    Barns for Cattle, Sheep & Poultry and Swine (including Boer goats): 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 31
    Barns for Cattle, Sheep & Poultry and Swine (including Boer goats): 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Llamas and alpacas arrive in AgStar Arena in the afternoon.
  • Thursday, Sept. 1
    Barns for Cattle, Sheep and Swine: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Note early closing time for Livestock Arrival & Departure.) Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Poultry Barn (featuring rabbits and poultry projects): 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Llamas and alpacas in AgStar Arena: approximately 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Llamas are here from Wednesday, Aug. 31 to Friday, Sept. 2; they depart at 2 p.m. Friday.

Friday, Sept. 2 – Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5: The last four days of the State Fair consist of judging of FFA livestock (cattle, sheep, swine) and open class goats, beef cattle, and rabbits and pigeons. Friday is the end of the Western Signature Horse Show. The Supreme Champions will be crowned on Friday, and then the games begin with WSCA game classes starting on Saturday and running through Monday! Note: All barns close at 5 p.m. on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5, with the exception of the Poultry Barn, which closes at 3 p.m.

    Barns for Cattle, Sheep (including dairy goats), Poultry (featuring rabbits and poultry projects) and Swine: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Llamas and alpacas in AgStar Arena & West Barn: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 3
    Barns for Cattle, Sheep (including dairy goats), Poultry (featuring rabbits and poultry projects) and Swine: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Sunday, Sept. 4
    Barns for Cattle, Horses, Sheep (including dairy goats), Poultry (featuring rabbits and poultry projects) and Swine: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Monday, Sept. 5
    Barns for Cattle, Horses, Sheep (featuring dairy goats) and Swine: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Poultry Barn (featuring rabbits and pigeons): 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Note early closing time for Livestock Departure.)
