Judging Schedule/Where & When to see the Animals

This schedule outlines where and when animals will be on the fairgrounds throughout the 12 days of the fair. The types of animals to see change throughout the 12 days of the fair, so be sure to check dates and times carefully.

Please note: Some barns close early on designated days for Livestock Arrival & Departure when different breeds and classes move in.

Thursday, Aug. 27 – Sunday, Aug. 30: The first four days of judging at the fair include 4-H livestock (cattle, sheep, swine, goats, poultry and rabbits) and open class pigeons, rabbits and sheep. Note: All barns, except the Horse Barn and CHS Miracle of Birth Center close early on Sunday, Aug. 30  for Livestock Arrival & Departure.

  • Thursday & Friday, Aug. 27 & 28
    Barns for Cattle, Sheep & Poultry (featuring rabbits and pigeons) and Swine: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 29
    Barns for Cattle, Sheep & Poultry (featuring rabbits and pigeons) and Swine: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Sunday, Aug. 30
    Barns for Cattle, Sheep & Poultry (featuring rabbits and pigeons) and Swine: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Note early closing time for Livestock Arrival & Departure.) Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 31 – Thursday, Sept. 3: The middle four days of judging at the fair include open class dairy cattle, sheep, swine, Boer goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys and geese. The Signature Horse Show, including breeds such as Appaloosas and Pintos, will be here. Note: All barns, except the Horse Barn & the Poultry Barn and CHS Miracle of Birth Center, close early on Thursday, Sept. 3 for Livestock Arrival & Departure.

  • Monday, Aug. 31
    Barns for Cattle, Sheep and Swine (including Boer goats): 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Poultry Barn (featuring rabbits and poultry projects) is closed for Livestock Arrival & Departure. Stock Dog Trials take place in Warner Coliseum at 9 a.m.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 1
    Barns for Cattle, Sheep & Poultry (featuring rabbits and poultry projects) and Swine (including Boer goats): 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 2
    Barns for Cattle, Sheep & Poultry (featuring rabbits and poultry projects) and Swine (including Boer goats): 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Llamas and alpacas arrive at AgStar Arena in the afternoon.
  • Thursday, Sept. 3
    Barns for Cattle, Sheep and Swine: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Note early closing time for Livestock Arrival & Departure.) Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Poultry Barn (featuring rabbits and poultry projects): 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Llamas and alpacas in AgStar Arena: approximately 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Llamas are here from Wednesday, Sept. 2 to Friday, Sept. 4; they depart at 2 p.m. Friday.

Friday, Sept. 4 – Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7: The last four days of the fair consist of judging of FFA livestock (cattle, sheep, swine) and open class goats, beef cattle and some poultry. Friday is the end of the Signature Horse Show. The Supreme Champions will be crowned on Saturday and then the games begin with WSCA classes starting on Sunday and Monday! Note: All barns close at 5 p.m. on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7.

    Barns for Cattle, Sheep (including dairy goats), Poultry (featuring rabbits and poultry projects) and Swine: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Llamas and alpacas in AgStar Arena & West Barn: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 5
    Barns for Cattle, Sheep (including dairy goats), Poultry (featuring rabbits and poultry projects) and Swine: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Horse Barn: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Sunday, Sept. 6
    Barns for Cattle, Horses, Sheep (including dairy goats), Poultry (featuring rabbits and poultry projects) and Swine: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Monday, Sept. 7
    Barns for Cattle, Horses, Sheep (featuring dairy goats) and Swine: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Poultry Barn (featuring rabbits and poultry projects): 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Note early closing time for Livestock Departure.)
