The horse show at the Minnesota State Fair is a multi-breed show, consisting of English, Western, Cutting and Bull Riding.

  • Friday, Aug. 22 — 5 and 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 23 — 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, Aug. 24 — 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Monday, Aug. 25 — 1 (est.) and 6 p.m.

Miniature Horse Schedule (AgStar Arena - halter classes):

  • Sunday, Aug. 24 — 2 p.m. (or following the morning session)

Appaloosa, Paint, Pinto, Quarter Horse Schedule (AgStar Arena - halter/stock & showmanship classes):

  • Wednesday, Aug. 27 — 7:30 a.m.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Until the premium book is posted, please consider the dates and times below to be tentative.

GENERAL INFORMATION AND RULES FOR ENTRY: The horse show premium books, including draft horse and saddle club information, are available annually for download in June. Or, if you prefer to receive a copy by mail, contact the Competition Office at (651) 288-4417 and request to be placed on the mailing list. Exhibitors who have entered within the past three years are already included on that list.



Registration and payment for entries online will be available for ALL horse divisions on June 16. Online registration will absolutely close on Aug. 8 at 4:30 p.m. (with the exception of WSCA, closing July 21). Late entries will be accepted via online entries with NO late fee up until Aug. 8, after which online entries will close. Entries may also be submitted via mail.
