We thank you, Minnesota, for making the 2011 State Fair so memorable! For twelve days of fun we welcomed more than 1,776,000 people. Please check back later for updated information on next year's Great Minnesota Get-Together. Hope to see you at the 2012 State Fair, to be held Aug. 23-Labor Day, Sept. 3!
The 2011 FFA Livestock show runs for four days, from Friday, Sept. 2 through Monday, Sept. 5. Entries are open to Minnesota (and Wisconsin sections 1, 2, and 3 in beef and crops only) students, grades 9-12, who are regularly enrolled in an agricultural education program or are active members of a chapter of FFA that is in good standing in the state FFA association. Incoming 9th grade students are eligible to show if they are enrolled in or have completed a course in a grade 9-12 Ag-Ed program for the current year.
Departments include:
Other FFA contests include Farm Crops, Landscape Design & Construction, Judging Contests and Safe Tractor Driving. Agriculture technology may be found on the Education Page.
The Minnesota State Fair Rural Youth Scholarship (formerly the Ben C. Hallberg Rural Youth Scholarship) was established in 1994 to help further the educational endeavors of young adults from greater Minnesota. Up to 20 scholarships of $1,000 each will be made available to rural youth or those enrolled in an agriculture program in 2011, with participation in the current year's Minnesota State Fair.
To help alleviate confusion for our exhibitors, we will be posting any changes to the Minnesota State Fair TB regulations on this web site as they are received.
We are working in conjunction with the Minnesota State Board of Animal Health, as well as the animal health regulatory bodies of the surrounding states to provide a consistent set of rules and regulations to best serve our cattle and goat exhibitors.
Please note: The updated regulations also apply to animals other than cattle.
