EDUCATION

The Education Department presents an annual exhibition of the work of students in Kindergarten through grade 12 throughout the state of Minnesota. Students entering in the Individual Exhibits division may submit a variety of items (drawings, paintings, sewing, jewelry, reports and creative writing). Projects conceived and executed at home as well as school projects are welcome. The Technology Education division includes architectural working drawings, photography, welding, woodworking, CO2 cars and solar boats, among others. Agricultural Technology division showcases exhibits such as wood and metalworking, large construction, nursery landscape designs, and others by students enrolled in a high school vocational agriculture class. In 2009, over 3500 items were entered and exhibited.

GENERAL INFORMATION AND RULES FOR ENTRY:

The Education premium book is available annually for download in May. Or, if you prefer to receive a copy by mail, contact the Competition Office at (651) 288-4417 and request to be placed on the Education mailing list. Exhibitors who have entered within the past two years are already included on that list.

The official three-part Education entry form is not sent out, but rather is filled out when entries are submitted. Teachers who will be bringing in a number of student works should enter on-line. By entering on-line, the entry forms and tags will be filled out electronically and the completed tags will be mailed to you ahead of time. On-line registration is highly recommended for teachers entering large numbers of projects. Or, they may contact the Competition office ahead of time to receive a sufficient number of entry forms and tags for completion prior to delivery of entries.

ONLINE REGISTRATION: Registration for entries on-line is available beginning May 1, for all Education divisions except Agricultural Technology. By entering on-line, your entry forms and tags will be completed and ready for you when you deliver your articles.
